No tenant screening process is complete without checking for the three major factors of credit, criminal and eviction. These are the biggest red flags and the first thing we look for. Making sure that you are pulling your information form the most reliable source is critical to ensure accurate data.

Current Landlord Check and Employment Verification
Besides checking for the main three components of credit, criminal and eviction – we take it a step further and follow up with phone calls to current and previous landlords that the prospective tenant has rented from. A current landlord is really the best source of information about what kind of tenant your prospective renter will make. We also call the renters employer to verify employment. These are two additional steps that a surprising majority of ‘do-it-yourself’ landlords never take and it unfortunately ends up hurting them later.
